Huset invigdes 1888. Det byggdes ursprungligen som Majornas flickskola och har varit folk- och realskola fram till 70-talet då specialskolan Gatenhielmska flyttade in. Numera är det Majornas kulturcentrum med två barer och restaurangkök specialiserade på god vegetarisk mat, bra musik och lokal öl.
The house was inaugurated in 1888. It was originally built as Majornas girl school and has been a folk and real school until the 70’s when special school Gatenhielmska moved in. Nowadays it is Majornas cultural center with two bars and restaurant kitchens specializing in good vegetarian food, good music and local beer.

Kyrkan invigdes 2 april 1893 av biskop Edvard Herman Rohde och ritades av arkitekt Helgo Zetterwall. Kyrkan har sitt namn efter kung Oscar II:s fullständiga namn. Kungen besökte kyrkan 1898 och skrev då sitt namn i dess gästbok. Den är ett praktexempel på nordeuropeisk tegelgotik (nygotik).
The church was inaugurated on 2 April 1893 by Bishop Edvard Herman Rohde and was designed by architect Helgo Zetterwall. The church is named after King Oscar II’s full name. The king visited the church in 1898 and then wrote his name in his guestbook. It is a prime example of northern European brick gothic (neo-Gothic).
